happy 2010!

31st dec, nye, this year will be a little different from the past. took 1/4 day off, rush off to hdb to collect keys! yes! another 5% of downpayment paid and now i'm officially poorer again haha but then again we got this!
comes with a cool leather case and 4 access cards for the sky garden

well the different thing about this year's countdown is that i will probably be counting down in nuh.... not! hopefully, at least for now haha had a call at 3pm then went off to jurong pt for dinner

after dinner and some shopping, came back home and here i am blogging, hopefully counting down with xx at home instead of the hospital heh

recalled a funny quote, overheard this @ tiffanys taka. this guy was asking the sales lady for the price of their engagement ring and he said "give me a price i can't refuse" i was like.. wahahhahaha

great post call evening

went out with xx yesterday after work, had a great meal at TGI Fridays, seems like a new outlet occupying the space where the balcony used to be @ heeren. quite a number of angmos.
xx ordered her chicken/shrimp pasta
and my jack daniels' angus steak! they even asked me to cut the steak to check if it is properly grilled to medium rare. very good stuff!

booked avatar 3d tickets at 930pm, had some time so went to walk around
found the roof garden of orchard central, all the way up 12 levels.

915pm, went on to cine to catch the movie, initially i tot it was some dumb movie with blue aliens so over used, but i was wrong
the movie is an interesting mix of "the matrix", "lost", "the last samurai" and yes "pokemon" haha catch the show and u will know what i mean. the 3d effect and the pandora world was really fascinating, james cameron is a real visionary. i was totally immersed in their world and the movie brought up some environmental issues and how evil/selfish human beings can be. overall a nice action sci-fi movie worth watching, one of the best movies of 2009 apart from "the dark knight". 9.5 oats, go catch it now! the 3d version of course.

christmas

nice long weekend for me to enjoy, started with christmas eve, had a nice family lunch with my grandparents at asian moon bistro. went out with xx to marina area after that for dinner/movie.
first up dinner @ mof, jap food!

caught sherlock holmes, nvr knew he was so macho, thought the fighting scenes were quite cool, matrix-like + some anatomy haha 7.5 oats

after the show, headed out to esplanade area, avoided orchard area coz it was gonna be a madhouse there, indeed, much more peaceful and walkable at the esplanade area. some choir singing christmas carols

got a little hungry and went to have a quick bite at popeyes, they serve the best mashpotatoes!
headed back to esplanade area again, no official countdown, just a group of teenagers counting down themselves haha

christmas day itself was spent with families, both my side and xx side, just eating and eating.

boxing day, shopping time! went to town to walk around and make use of my new lens

merry christmas!

decided to sneak to our new place after christmas dinner even though we haven't gotten our keys yet, hdb quite jian though, set up erp parking already to collect money! the carpark is quite narrow, probably need to get a small but powerful sports car next time hahaha










i love my new lens, this was taken handheld in almost total darkness, woo not perfectly sharp but still acceptable, can't wait till we get the keys next week!

Bumblebee has great taste!

Bumblebee decided enough is enough, vw beetle is too old-fashion and slow, Chevrolet Camaro, american muscle car, too much power without control, so he went for the perfect balance instead

tada! suzuki swift sport! haha transformers were once of my favourite cartoon/toy when i was young, dun remember reading instruction manuals for transforming though, this however with the japanese instruction manual in my hand, i struggled for nearly 2 hours trying to transform bumblebee... thanks to xx for an early christmas present =D






btw DO NOT EVER go to eighteen chefs for food, xx bit on a piece of glass in the salad, nobody bothered to come out and apologise even after i informed the waitress TWICE... Sent an email to them and after 2 days, NO reply, f**ked up place CONDEMNED for life
