28 august 1999, 五月天 held their first concert in taiwan. 10 years later, they are still going strong and on the exact same date 28 august, they promise to entertain their fans till 12 midnight and boy they did! brilliantly!

xx and i went on to meet her friends wy and yw for dinner @ kallang before getting into the indoor stadium.
inside, a white screen covered the entire set, keeping us in anticipation

then the lights went off and the stadium became a huge movie theatre, screening the intro to the concert proper, it was a car chase scene showing the 5 guys escaping, they could have used a sportier looking car haha
then at the climax of the chase when they crashed, there was some pyrotechnic explosion and the screen fell revealing a nicely designed stage comprising of several huge monitors and other complex looking stuffs
the car they drove in the video became part of the set as well
then the songs began!!

there was a passage way for them to go up close to the audience
a huge globe was formed in the middle of the concert and became part of the screen for special effects


there were the usual solo performances by each of the members
lights and
lasersss

then the foams came out and everyone thought it was the end of the performance
but no no no, with the usual encores, they came back to perform! again and again and again! i think there were 3 encores haha

and they didn't stop at midnight, they continued on till around 12.15am before
bidding farewell to us all
very satisfied fans!



i believe this is the longest concert i've ever been to, 3.5 hours is no joke! esp for a rock band! i feel tired for them haha actually i was tired myself, jumping to the song 离开地球表面 zapped most of my energy haiz need more exercise. xx and her gang seem so full of energy haha i guess the special thing about 五月天 is that they are all decent rockers, something you don't get very often, no association with sex and drugs. they had a temporary hiatus a few years back because of national service and not because of suicide or whatever. their songs relate very well to teenagers and adults even touching topics we encounter daily like dreams, love, friendships, ambitions, etc etc, the positive stuff.
go 五月天! kick those boy bands' asses!

finally, received the official photographer's photos, one word.. disappointed, the photos were so standard, haiz so gonna spend money for a better photographer for 6/6/10's banquet. shall post them on facebook, meanwhile, enjoy some of my cousin's photos with some ps by me hehe

080809 pre ceremony

finally, the big day has arrived, sent xx to labelle in the morning for her make up. decided to be my own photographer for the morning and began snapping photos of my beautiful bride hee










proceeded to Amara sanctuary to prepare the ceremony, abit rush, had only <2 hours to put everything together,
