careless

been screwing up this week, made a mess of everything, x-rays, chemicals and whatever haiz but pedo again has cheered me up haha this time was pl's patient, 6 yr old girl. initially cried but her mum and pl managed to calm her down. later managed to chat with her and she even drew an airplane for us lol which she claims the wings make the plane look like fish haha

1 week passed

once it invaded into the radiowaves, now it's invading into our homes terrifying kids hahaha maybe i should get one to scare my pedo kids hahahah

alright, after 1st week of superband, i have narrowed my choice to.... QI:NOBE, mat rokers + a chinese rapper + a funny malay singer with interesting costumes and makeup, great performance!

superband

alright 14 teams remains and from them i've picked 3 bands to look out for based on my music preference haha first is jing bao yue tuan, a 3 piece band just like greenday, sounded real good with their rendition of fir's revolution but the drummer err sounds kinda funny. 2nd is lucify, looks quite pro, jrock style like luna sea. the final one is qi:nobe which is real interesting to watch especially the malay in red haha quite entertaining. they even have a dj disc scratching thing which makes their music unique, like linkin park hehe

xx's theory

upon watching the 1st few episodes of lost 2 again, xx made a discovery! eheh in the introductory video of the dharma intiative, one of the founders goes by the name of skinner which in real life is a behaviourist. He created the device called skinner box at harvard university around 1930. Skinner box is a laboratory apparatus used in experimental psychology to study animal cognition. The structure forming the shell of a chamber is a 3-dimensional box large enough to easily accommodate the organism being used as a subject.

"Skinner boxes have at least one operandum(or "manipulandum") that can automatically detect the occurrence of a behavioral response or action. Typical operanda for primates and rats are response levers; if the subject presses the lever, the opposite end moves and closes a switch that is monitored by a computer or other programmed device. Typical operanda for pigeons and other birds are response keys with a switch that closes if the bird pecks at the key with sufficient force. The other minimal requirement of a conditioning chamber is that it have a means of delivering a primary reinforcer or unconditioned stimulus like food (usually pellets) or water." -taken from wikipedia

so basically the animal presses a button to get food. With this, it is possible to investigate uncountable psychological phenomena. sounds familiar? yeah as xx said, its so similar to the situation the people of lost are in. They are in a hatch but this case, they have a button to press not for food, but for survival believing that something bad will happen if the button is not pushed. so could this all be just a psychological experiment with human beings as test subjects rather than rats?

in the later part of the show, it seems that the button was not pushed and nothing happened but a pallet of food was found. hmm so whats going on here...

my longest post yet!

caught 2 movies, 1 on monday the other on tuesday. monday caught failure to launch. about this guy who stays with his parents but they want him to move out so that they can have some private time. they then hire sarah jessica parker to pretend to be his gf to make him move. This is a light hearted romantic comedy but the plot is pretty predictable. but its damn funny how the guy is not "in sync" with nature and all nice animals such as chipmunks and dolphins start to bite him haha 7.8 oats!

2nd movie is a more hilarious one, ice age 2: meltdown! with my favourite prehistoric squirrel, scrat screwing things up again haha this time he is more involved with the plot and not just chasing the acorn. alright... maybe he is still chasing the stupid acorn... but he's the big hero! woohoo! witty dialogues together with references from other shows such as meet the parents make this a damn funny show. i still believe there are dodos in the show heh this show gets 9.5oats!! must watch!

went to school today for screening, kinda got allergic to school lol felt pukish during lunch and didn't finish my lunch. messed up my 1st oral health instructions haiz dunno how to use tooth mousse! wth maybe long time nvr do such things, subsequent instructions was alright. all these clinic allocations are also giving me problems. why can't the stupid office just arrange the whole damn thing for us instead of letting us fight for the slots. f**king lazy people. start to have negative thoughts again... why did i choose this course? i only want a sports car but i see my army friends owning those. am i on the right path? my presentation skills and eq suck. will i be a good dentist? how come my memory so bad? haiz then came across this while surfing for iceage stuff lol its done by a physics masters student called sarah. maybe can just substitute "thesis" with degree or bds in my case hehejust watched a funny show on channel 8, 永不言败 where all the "stars" from other reality shows such as steven lim are invited back to compete again haha must really admire their courage to attain fame.

if only i have one of these at my home haha

what a small world

had a pleasant surprise this morning from xx, she told me someone unexpected left a msg on my tag-board. it was glenn from the yuan sheng dai band who left their groups website on the tagboard (and i thought only my close friends read my blog lol lucky nvr write anything bad haha kiddin) so went to visit the page and wow 2 familiar names popped up. the 1st was james kwek, sounded really familiar. right of coz it was familar, i've been looking at his name for the past month!haha have been studying his surgery book for the exams, wierd thing is, he is not even in my line lol wonder how his book got here. 2nd name was simon khoo, well we were together in npcc back in sji. thats how small the world is hah something to look forward on tv other than ms universe ahah gd luck to yuan sheng dai for the competition!
