week 5 Babel

it has been a crazy 5 weeks so far, scrambling to complete requirements, chasing after patients and perhaps at the same time neglecting the most important aspect of dentistry - patient management. well can only hope for the best.

went to watch babel today. actually i quite like it haha well not only for the naked scenes ok i go for plot! definition of babel as i found out "A confusion of sounds or voices." very appropriate title for the movie. The director did an excellent job in linking 4 different stories set in different countries with people speaking different languages so seamlessly that the movie was so smooth flowing throughout. must have been difficult working with locals of different countries. This movie doesn't have any spectacular special effects or stunts but what it have to offer are lessons in life which unfortunately for some they have to learn it the hard way.

1) Its never too late to turn back after making a mistake. Better to admit than to make another to cover. It just gets worse and worse.
2) To hell with politics when a life is at stake
3) Humans are selfish
4) But not all humans are selfish (it was quite nice to see the Moroccan local who went all out to help brad pitt and his wife and in the end declined brad pitts monetary tips for helping them as compared to their fellow countryman who abandoned them.) therefore, do not judge a book by its cover heh
5) Do not take ur 5 senses for granted.

thats all i can think of for now kinda late hah

childhood toys

happen to discover some remainings of my childhood toys yesterday. think i am quite fortunate, or should i say spoilt haha my dad always got for me what i wanted, especially "masks", "transformers", "he-man", "silverhawk", lego etc etc have to go dig them out to see if the rest are still around though, he-man probably has 1 or 2 limbs left haha

Heres whats left of my "mask" collection, not in very gd condition though loose doors and wheels. all the big trucks and planes lost! argh wow i loved cars since i was young heh used to collect those sticker books for mask, ninja turtles and others but all disappeared.

welcome 2007!

yay unlucky 2006 is gone, welcome 2007! hope it will be a better year! this year's new year eve started with a movie in the afternoon. well it was xx's choice of movie and of course she chose her favourite celebrity (takeshi)'s show, confession of pain. i didn't know what this show was about when i went into the theatre. overall the show wasn't too bad. the directors did a gd job with the flashbacks and stuff. art direction was superb, very nicely done. actually the show reminded me of deathnote haha with takeshi being the detective L and liang chao wei being kira. this detective/thriller show gets 8 oats. after the show, did some shopping and we met up with vincent, joseph, charmaine and her sister. decided to walk down to esplanade with a few pit stops along the way hah

SMU: very nice shopping complex, ermm i mean campus hah they have 7-11, watsons, bank, bookshops, travel agency etc etc students there really pay to play? heard theres an indoor swimming pool, wonder if its real.

SJI: my alma mater, even though i didn't study in this building, it sure looks great, proud to be a josephian.

As we got to raffles place, it started to rain, fortunately it was only a short duration.

finally arrived at our destination, managed to get a gd spot on the flyover, same spot as last year's countdown haha

balls on water, abit blur.
after that we squeezed with the crowds on mrt to get to kopitiam opposite smu for supper with alex, chris and kelvin. no gambling this time heh that proabaly sums up new years eve celebration for 06. heres wishing everyone a fantastic 2007!
