random post

hhaha one of the reasons why i still love her so much


after years of listening to music, i have finally found a very good combo for quality. of coz u can get better sound with more money, but i'm happy with what i got.

sony mp3 player, not a very popular choice with apple ipods all over the place. i'm glad i'm not one of the many other ppl with apple products haha! but i have one (taken from xx coz she has a new one) the pink ipod mini which is stuck to the car now. so i can compare the sound quality from both players. sony with its clear audio technologies - clear stereo, clear bass(really shiok), Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), the sound quality really beats the ipod hands down, using the same earphones to test of course.

not only the player output must be good, the earphones are really important as well. dump those white apple earphones away! haha used to own a pair of sony nudes series ex71, but it really became nude, the wire covers started to give way and "disintegrated" after a year... so much for quality but i must say the bass is really good. so last year, i decided to get something good, finally settled on shure. coz its too expensive, i got the lower end one. higher end ones cost 500 plus a pair! i tested this pair of shure se110 with the new pair of sony ex-82 which came with the above sony mp3 player. the sony earphones came with the same type of the wire cover as my old sony, so i guess it will probably disintegrate in a years time. the shure on the other hand is covered with a very solid rubbery plastic material.

sound wise, the sony as usual very strong in bass, too strong it drowns the mids, the trebles still ok. the shure is surely well balanced. bass, mid and trebles equally good and clear, bass has sufficient thump to it. dunno if its psychological or not, if u close ur eyes and listen properly, u can hear the different instruments placed at different locations. this is probably what they call "sound staging" haha sound isolation is definitely much better too! a very good buy indeed!
